72 miles South East of Goose Bay in the wilds of Labrador
How do I get there?
Fly in only. You would have to arrive to Goose Bay Labrador, normally a connector flight from Halifax.
When should I go?
Their Season begins mid June and Runs until Mid September. Earlier in the season the quantity of brookies released is normally higher. Later in the season the Brookies are more colorful and larger. If you want to take advantage of their optional Fly-outs The date to consider are as follows (Atlantic Salmon-Mid July to Early August, Arctic char-Early August to Early September)
How will I fish?
Fishing is fly fishing only, single barbless hooks, all catch and release. You can expect to fish in Their beautiful Gander River Boats on the Lake, Wading in the stream, and Lund Aluminum boats in Some areas they hike to fish.
Is there wade fishing?
Yes, there is a stream only minutes from the Lodge about 2 km long that produces some great wade fishing. Wade Fishing is also available for the optional Fly outs for the Atlantic Salmon and the Arctic char.
Where will I fish?
You will fish on the Lake, in the stream next to the Lodge and in sister ponds throughout the area. Optional fly outs also available for The Atlantic Salmon at on the Eagle River and Arctic char at the base of the Torngat mountains.

Literally minutes from the Lodge
What type(s) of fish will I catch?
Eastern Brook Trout & Northern Pike. Optional fly outs for Atlantic Salmon & Arctic char.
How many fish will I catch?
Earlier in the season the qty of fish are greater, dry fly action is better. Later in the season the lake slows and stream fishing has the best results with larger more colorful Brookies. Numbers vary but they have had days where guest release 40+ and we have days were the fish just don’t want to take. An average day would see guest catch between 5-10 Brookies
Will I see other anglers?
this is the only Lodge on the Lake and have lots of room to fish with the lake, stream and sister ponds. You will have entire pools to yourself, and the waters are rotate with other guests.
What are the guides like?
The guides are very experienced, and will do their best to ensure you have an unforgettable experience. They will be available to assist with techniques, flies to use and safe handling of the fish.
What are the physical demands?
If you wish to fish the stream and sister pond you should be able to walk through the forest and wetlands for 20-30 mins.
Are there any special skills required?
No special skills required
Does the lodge provide equipment?
the lodge can provide rods, reels, lines and landing nets.
What is your favorite setup for the trip?
5 and 6 wt for the brookies and Arctic char, 7wt for the Norther Pike, and 9wt for The Atlantic Salmon.
What are the top flies?
Wooly Boogers, Brown Bugs, Mayflies, zoo cougar, beadhead zonker, leeches, Drakes, Muddler Etc.
What are the options if water conditions become challenging?
If water conditions become challenging the guides will try sister ponds around The Lake or the can always switch it up and fish for Northern Pike
What is a typical day like?
Normal daily Schedule would consist of Breakfast at 7:00 am, fishing at 8:00-8:30
AM. Back for lunch at 12:00 pm, back out fishing at 1:00-1:30 pm. Back for Dinner
at 5:30 pm, back out fishing at 6:30-7:00 pm if guest wishes and stay out until just
before dark. Guest will get the opportunity to rotate between the Lake, stream, and sister ponds during the duration of their stay.
What is the general vibe, atmosphere and style of the lodge?
Very relaxed, rustic feel but totally renovated with all the comforts of home.
Is there an on-site owner, manager or other point-person at the lodge?
Owner always available via email or phone, onsite camp facilitator.
Where do we eat, and what are the meals like?
Guests will eat in the main lodge, large dining room and coffee/breakfast bar available all day. 3 hearty meals prepared each day by our chef, posted the day before for all guests to see.
What is the alcohol policy?
No Alcohol or marijuana use while in or around boats, your safety is our top priority. Orders will be taken prior to trip for delivery to the Lodge for clients
How is tipping handled?
Tipping guidelines are provided prior to your trip as a general suggestion. Labeled envelopes will be provided for guest to give to staff.
Where do we stay, and what are the accommodations like?
5 guest in the main lodge all single rooms, with 2 shared washrooms. Labrador room 5 guests. 1 double suit private ensuite, 2 double rooms with private ensuite.

You can always enjoy the singing and instruments played occasionally by the staff.

Do I need a visa?
Not from the USA.
Are there any health concerns, dangers or annoyances?
Nothing out of the ordinary when traveling to a remote location such as ours. We will send a health questionnaire, and allergy information sheet when you book to determine any actions to be taken.
