Bay St. George
Newfoundland, Canada
Getting here
After arriving at the Deer Lake Airport (YDF) you 'll head west on Hwy 1 the Trans Canada Highway, passing buy Corner Brook and some absolutely breath taking scenery, through the Humber Valley.
The lodge is nestled on Harry's River in the quiet community of Black Duck Siding, just 20 minutes from the Town of Stephenville.
Lodging & Fishing
The lodge is absolutely perfect for a group of salmon anglers with plenty of space to relax in the evenings, tell the days stories. There are both single and double occupancy rooms in the lodge.
With only being a stones throw from the Harry's River your options close to the lodge are very great pools when the salmon are moving and only being a few miles from salt water they tend to be feisty!
With seven rivers that we target over the season in the area, countless pools, the options seem endless of places to fish. With these rivers being some of the earliest to get migrating fish each season it makes for some cool temperatures and normally great water conditions that salmon love.
As the season progresses and the water temps warm the dry fly action really starts to turn on and that's when the fun really Begins.

Rivers We Fish:
Harry's River Flowing from the highest mountains on the island he runs Cold and Gin clear. Harrys is generally perfect for fishing condition because of the cold mountain water keeping conditions good for fishing. From the wide gravel lower section to the narrow lime stone bed rock upper section Harry's River is sure to offer a tremendous experience And bring a two hander if you have one, there's some great swing water
Sou' West Brook Being one of the first rivers in Newfoundland for the salmon migration to start each year, Sou' West brook always has fish in it from the day the season open offing great opportunities historically from the start. this river winds through some of the most beautiful scenery and offering an abundance of great pools and stellar dry fly action.
Flat Bay Brook boasting many pools from the top of the river to the saltwater, Fantastic runs of grilse, with easy access. although the upper section of the river is cottage country for a handful of locals the entire lower section with the freshest fish right out of the ocean is most time like a ghost town!!
Fishells River is a spate river dependent on water levels and can change with extremes is a short period of time. with runs of grilse and big salmon both in such a small river can offer the potential for some amazing up close and personal action with these acrobatic fish. being such a small river you can have some real fun with a light action rod so bring one!!
Robinsons River is the largest system we fish in BSG offering some great two handed opportunities with 6-8wt single handed rods perfectly adequate for the task at hand.
Barachois Brook A small River with some mighty fish! this river offers some great dry fly action in a small venue, so bring a light action 6wt.
Crabbs River doesn't give up its fishing locations easy, some of these pools are a good walk but when you get there the ambiance and the river it's self can make the access worth the effort. Crabbs is also the furthest from the lodge and we generally go on a full day trip when we head that way often times fishing a second river on the way back.
